Artist Blacksmithing 

"Techniques in Action" explains the fundamental techniques of working with hot iron and steel, and suggests how those techniques can be used creatively in designs. Set in his own workshop, it is a rare opportunity to see a leading blacksmith in action. With the roar of the forge, the dancing of the flames and the glow of hot metal, the film captures the romance and magic of using fire to transform a piece of iron.

He discusses the tools including; Cross Peen Hammer, Rounding Hammer, Ball Peen Hammer, Punch, Chisel, Metal Ruler, Monkey Wrench and Tongs. He discusses tha Anvil and how it is used and why it is shaped the way it is. He then shows you how to use some of the tools in the basic processes of Blacksmithing including twist, taper, hot cut, hole punch, slitting and forge welding.

Bob Rupert invites you into an 1880's blacksmith shop to show you how to start a coal fire and how to heat a piece of metal. After lighting the fire he explains how to make coke which you will use for you fire.
